YOUR FUTURE BEST FRIEND
Sometimes, I find
it very helpful to get support and guidance from my Future Best
Friend. My Future Best Friend is a version of me that lives out on a
future timeline.
My experience with my own Future Best Friend goes something like this:
I
get into a meditative space. I intend to connect with my Future Self.
I then find myself standing at a door. My Future Self lives in a
Manhattan apartment in the year 2035. She invites me in, and serves
tea. I ask her questions about decisions I am facing, and she provides
wise advice.
But, she does not tell me what I should do, or what will happen.Nor,
would I want her to. That might change my life's course. I instead,
ask her about her life. Is she happy? What would have made her life
more happy. Without hesitation, she smiles, and tells me that she
would have enjoyed each moment more, without looking to the next moment
so much. I hug her, and leave through the door. I find my way back to
my meditation room. I am enriched from the talk.
Here are the steps to connect with your Future Self:
1) Get into a meditative space. Ask for the Light of God (or whatever term you use for your higher power) to protect you;
2) Ask to connect with a version of you that is living healthily and happily out in some future timeline;
3)
Intend to go to where you can talk to that person. It may be their
home, office, or perhaps a neutral place where you can both talk, like
a park.
4) Tell them you would like to talk about where you are
in your life. Express your feelings. Listen and feel their response.
Even if you cannot see or hear them, know that they are hearing you,
and you are receiving their feedback.
5) At the end of the meeting, thank them. Ask them to send you healing back in time whenever they can.
6) Intend to separate from them. You are now free to come back to your meditation.
7) Feel free to write after this experience so you can capture on paper any insights you have as a result of the experience.
Intending
for the new year can be very positive, because it does not only allow
for manifesting what we think we want, but it also allows for an
overview of where we are.
As I approach this new year, I am
looking to clean house, before I move in more furniture. I am looking
at everything, and the cobwebs in the corners. I look at the big
elephants in the room: forgiveness,
unresolved anger, something that is not working, or something that I
think can function better. I get to decide to keep something as it is,
or change it. I make note of something I need to heal from, and intend
to receive healing, knowing that intention follows healing. I then
envision where I want to go with the year - in every aspect of my
life. I then set out to plan for the future year.
Here's an approach you can take to chart your course for 2008:
1)
Make a list of things you are holding on to: anger, frustration,
something you have not forgiven. For each of these things, intend that
you receive healing for them. After you have done that, intend and
resolve to let these things go.
2) With these things cleared,
look at your life. Decide what you want to keep and change. Of the
things you want to keep, do you want these things to be the same? If
not, decide what you want to change, and how you want to change it.
(An example: you want to be more rested, so you decide you will go to
bed earlier).
3) With a picture of how you want the things you
know about to look, now you can intend for what you do not know about.
This includes overall qualities you would like to be able to access
when you need them: for example, patience, compassion, acceptance.
4)
Now, with your eyes closed, intend to see your new and improved life
play out. See the improved life with the qualities available to you
that you have intended. If you cannot see it, feel it. Note the
feeling of calm it gives you.
5) Give thanks and express gratitude for your life, and ask for blessings upon your life, now and for the year 2008.
All my best to you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SEE IT
Sometimes,
we need to see it. I recently had the gift of working with a young
person who is challenged by ADD, Attention Deficit Disorder. He is
gifted with a loving and helpful family.
In working with him, we
discovered the value of seeing something - seeing something play out
like a movie in our head. When he sees it in his head, he can remember
it.
We all can benefit from seeing in our head - see a future
day play out in our head. See the outcome of a situation be optimal.
See ourselves face a challenge and succeed.
To see it, do the following:
1)
Intend that your visualizing be blessed, within the Will of God (or
your word for your Higher Power), and for your Highest Good;
2) Intend that fear leave your space;
3) Decide how you want the situation to look. Imagine for a moment you get to write an optimal outcome;
4)
See that outcome play out in a series of scenes, like a movie, or a
series of snapshots. See happy faces, feel the satisfaction you feel
in that scenario. Review the story and see if you can improve it, for
instance, consider adding that you feel comfortable and confident.
5)
When you have finished seeing it, reiterate that you intend this
situation within the Will of God, (or your word for a higher power),
and for your highest good.
Do this daily for events of the next day, or the coming days. Best Wishes!
I
define discord as the ill-will of others, the discontent and ill-ease
we may feel about our life or the world. This can get in the way of
happy and healthy living. Here is how to move the discord:
1)
Intend that all healing occur within the will of God and for your
highest good (you may use a different name for God here as you like);
2)
Intend that all of the discord be gathered from your mind, and moved
out of your forehead. Once it has moved, or after a few seconds,
intend that this energy be neutralized. Ask that divine help assist
you;
3) Next, gather all of the discord from your heart.
Repeat the instructions above, except move all of the energy out of the
body at the chest;
4) Then, gather all of the discord from your
cells. Repeat the instructions above, except intend that all of the
energy gather at your upper abdomen (your solar plexis), and move it
out from there.
4) Intend then that Light Energy bringing
positivity and optimism move from divine sources through you, starting
at the top of your head. Intend that this energy move to all energy
centers, all cells.
You are free of discord and filled now with positivity. You may do this once or more each day. Blessings! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SET YOUR UNIVERSAL INTENTIONS
Your Universal Intentions are intentions that govern your life - they are the umbrella of energy above everything.
Sometimes
our Universal Intentions are set up and sent out into the Universe
without us realizing it. These Universal Intentions may have
connections to fear, struggle, or attachment.
For this reason, it is optimal to create and send out your Universal Intentions.
Here is how to create your Universal Intentions:
First, intend to call back all intentions that may have found their way out into the Universe. Then, create new ones.
Here is a suggested approach on creating new intentions and sending them out into the Universe.
1)
Create a sort of Mission Statement for your life. This statement
comprises why you are here and what you want to contribute. An example
is: "I exist to experience a fulfilling life - one bountiful in love
and joy. I share this joy with others in work and connection. In
doing so, I contribute to a world that is more joyful and whole."
2)
Next, create intentions that support this Mission Statement. Examples
of intentions for the above Mission Statement I have used as an
example, are: "I intend that my Work life allow me to experience and
facilitate love and joy." "I intend to draw people and circumstances
that make my contribution to the world possible".
3) Feel these statements with your Heart. Say these words silently as if your voice was speaking from your Heart.
4) Ask that these statements be Blessed.
5) Then, close your eyes, and imagine that these intentions and statements fly out into the Universe.
6)
Last, intend to live your intentions and Mission Statement. If
something you are doing or contemplating doing does not fit with these,
then change your life to reflect the intentions.
I have noticed recently that the geese and cranes are on the move, a
full 8 weeks early. I have spoken to someone 700 miles away, who has
noticed that the leaves are changing early.
When we notice
something in our world that seems different or unusual, we can send it
healing. The beauty of sending healing is that we do not need to know
what is for the "best". We can simply intend that the best be served
when you send a healing intention.
How to send a healing intention for the world:
1)
Pick the topic of thing you would like to send healing to. For
example, we can use the Weather. Since we do not know what is the
"right thing" to bring healing to the Weather, we can intend something
like the following:
"I intend healing and balance to the
Weather. I send harmony to all aspects of the Weather. I ask for
divine blessings on the Weather and all things it influences. I intend
this within the will of God (your term here for a higher power is
fine), and ask that the highest good of the weather and all living
things be served."
You can use this tool to address any component of Life. Happy Living, Happy Life!
Letting go of the past seems like a tall order. After all, it is
"done". But, time is all happening now. We can work with past just
like the present.
How to energetically let go of something from your past:
Pick
an event. Ask that any healing you facilitate be within the Will of
God (your term here for a higher power is fine), and that the highest
good of all involved be served. Then, see that event change. Imagine
a better, more optimal version of events. Ask that the recollection of
that old event be taken from you. Ask that the new event be placed in
your energy. Allow a few minutes for this to take hold. Then, glance
back on the event in question a few times throughout the day. Intend
the new version of events. Continue this process until you wake up one
morning and can recall the new version of events spontaneously. This
typically should take from one to three days.
This is an
abbreviated form of transforming cellular memory, which will be offered
as a series of tools on this site in the coming weeks.
DOWN, PLEASE: TAKE THE ELEVATOR FROM YOUR HEAD TO YOUR HEART AND START THINKING
It
is not lost on me that Adam and Eve tried one day to connect to God
with their head. They even said "Hey, we'd like to move through the
world using our head - you don't mind, do you?" Well, God knew that
that meant they would know then the yin and yang, light and dark of
everything - the finite and the infinite, and they would by definition,
need to leave the Garden of Eden. Thus, a very long walk through a
very dry desert. And, here we are.
The idea that we are
the sum total of our brain's function is a disability to our being able
to live a full life. We take pride in the size of our brain as beings,
and the size of our IQs. What about our emotional IQ? Most of ours
are still in elementary school emotionally. We keep focusing on
developing our minds. But, it is our heart which is the true seat of
the human mind.
I once met with a client who was a
successful Hollywood "suit". Los Angeles has this way of twisting egos
around all things. Anyway, he said to me point blank: "I want a
face-to-face with God. I want to meet him." He came at the issue with
self-importance, like he had earned the privilege. I told him "You are
looking at him". I then quickly said "And, you see God every time you
look in the mirror". Our ego wants to be the only child of God, so
the idea that he already had what he wanted infuriated him. What he
really wanted was the feeling of connection to God. He and I worked on
his operating from his heart instead of his head, and he transformed a
little that day, and since.
We want to operate from the
heart, because it is the true seat of God in us, and our ego doesn't
live there to muddle it up. Our heart is also the true location of our
intuition. Note that when our heart is in a state of gratitude, our
brain electrically syncs up. So, we know that electrically the heart
and the brain truly become one when we feel the most divine of feelings
a human can feel - gratitude - which is the recognition of Grace in
real time.
To practice thinking from your heart:
1)
Sit comfortably in a quiet room. Ask for divine assistance and
protection from God, and God-based helpers. Intend that your awareness
take an elevator down from your head to your heart. Imagine that your
awareness gets off the elevator, and stays there. You will find that
if you try to talk while in this place, it is more difficult. It
should be at first, because words are not usually generated from the
heart. Practice this several times a day when you can. Times not to
practice this are when you are doing things that require alert
mindfulness - banking, driving, etc. As you become better at this, you
will find that things change in your life, and that you can muster this
state of being at will. You will be able to speak easily from the
heart. And in doing so, you will live a more authentic human
experience - that which was intended for us before we gave our brain a
promotion to a higher position than our heart. Happy Living, Happy Life!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WANTING SOMETHING BADLY CHANGES IT - PRACTICE CONSCIOUS DETACHMENT TO MANIFEST YOUR LIFE
What is the secret to manifesting our life's goals, desires, and
dreams? Well, it is not simply wanting. If so, we would all have what
we have wanted thousands of times over.
One of the most
frustrating aspects of trying to live a life consciously lived can be
when we want something, need to wait for it to manifest, and expect
that it should manifest a particular way. We often will focus on what
that thing is so much, that we slow its arrival or indeed, even change
its shape and energy signature. The English phrase "The watched pot
never boils", is a good example. We can move energy away from a
positive outcome, and bring just more frustration energy, more
stagnation, or at worst, an outcome that is the result of our fear and
wanting.
I once had car trouble. I needed to get to and
from work every day. I was panicked. I asked the universe to help me
solve my car problem. What I did not ask for was a cheap mechanic or a
small repair bill. I waited a few days to try to both sort out the
problem on my end - find a good mechanic, figure out the money end,
contemplate purchasing another car. The next morning the phone rang.
It was a friend who said that her family had just given her a
hand-me-down car. Did I want it? Well, this certainly solved my
problem. If I had jumped in and tried to force the issue of a
solution, I would have spent money I didn't need, and worried for
nothing. The car solution came in a way that I never could have
imagined, which is the point of the story - always ask for what you
need, not how the universe should give it to you. The second point of
this story is, practice conscious detachment around the outcome of what
you have asked for. If I had intended the heck out of the car problem
intending solutions that I had come up with in my small human mind, I
would have perhaps brought a less optimal solution to my problem. My
intentions around a specific means to fix my situation may have brought
no energy around the divine solution to my problem - namely, another
car altogether that I did not have to pay for.
We urge our daily schedules on to make sure we are on
time. When there is a delay, we get flustered. It may not dawn on us
that the universe made sure we avoided a problem in that other timeline
we would have encountered if we had been to that spot a few minutes
earlier. People who lose things at airports and don't get on planes
that crash is an extreme example of this, but very telling. Sometimes
we need to let go of our perception of what should be, and let the universe bring what is divinely intended.
Detachment is one of the most difficult things to simply think of
because we want to. We must be conscious, and put it out into the
universe without doubt or fear to create it.
HERE ARE THE STEPS TO PRACTICE CONSCIOUS DETACHMENT:
1)
First, decide whether you are willing to live within the Will of God
(or whatever you call your higher power), and whether you are willing
to accept whatever is for your highest good. I strongly advise both of
these things. These are the backbone of a graced life. If you are,
then send out an intention that "I consciously intend to live within
the Will of God, and accept what is for my highest good;
2) When you intend what you need or want, ask for it like in the following example:
"I
intend to do everything in my power to bring my cholesterol down. I
ask for miracles, grace, and divine intervention. I consciously detach
from this outcome and accept what is for my highest good in the name of
God" (or whatever you call your higher power). In this way, you state
that you are going to try your best, you are asking for help, leaving
the outcome up to something more wise than you, and consciously
detaching from outcome.
Practice this several times if need
be. Reaffirm your detachment if fear or doubt comes up around a
particular issue you are wanting to manifest a particular way.
Reaffirm your detachment with an intention that looks like this:
"I
reaffirm detachment to outcome around the issue of my cholesterol going
lower. I acquiesce to the will of God and my highest good, and ask for
blessings on this issue."
THE BEST BLUE PLATE SPECIAL YOU WILL EVER ORDER: THE COMBO OF FAITH, HOPE, AND GRATITUDE
We humans are curious creatures. We want what we want. Our
environment - apprearingly stark and finite in its resources, can
convey the message that life is hard, and that we may not get what we
want. So, we scrap and work. Every human on the planet is here
because an ancestor beat the odds. So, as a result, we may focus on
the elements of hard work and gaining advantage.
No one
knows exactly when humans became faithful. Perhaps it came when humans
started having an awareness that there was something bigger than them.
The awe of nature, or the manifestation of intention may have played a
role. Some modern geneticists do assert that our spiritual nature is
genetic. Whether this is a product of our ancestors' spiritual
perceptions, or our creator placing our spiritual awareness in our
genetic code, one thing is clear: we have a spiritual awareness of
something existing outside of us, and this phenomenon is universal.
In our spiritual pursuits are the components of Faith - defined as the state of mind which believes that what we desire can manifest, Hope - the conscious act of asserting and intending faith, and Gratitude
- the active state of mind that gives thanks. Many would say that
these three components are just aspects of human emotion. After all,
we "feel them". I would suggest that rather than faith, hope and
gratitude being human emotions, they are intended states of being. If
a situation arises that creates a hopeful presence in us, we still need
to consciously embrace or reject it. If we accept hope and reject
fear, then we say that we are "hopeful"' about something. The same can
be said about faith. This distinction of emotion versus spontaneous
perception is important, because it brings to mind the importance of
choosing one's perception and intending a state of being.
Science has brought home the vitally important nature of the ability to
choose one's perception. Chosen optimism is shown to accelerate
physical healing timelines. People choosing to mentally focus on a
visual image in the mind can reduce the perception of pain. We can
probably cite some example from our own life where we choose a
perception, and it influences our perception of the moments that follow.
Not all perceptions are created equal: gratitude is the ultimate
perception. While we often speak of love as the paramount state of
being, science has shown that when a person intends gratitude, the
heart and the brain sinc up electrically. Whenever there is a sincing
up of electric impulses, there is optimal harmony. The implications
for the influence of gratitude on total health and happiness are
staggering and dynamic.
So, how does a person "order up" some faith, hope and gratitude? Here are the steps:
1)
Intend to be faithful by saying silently or aloud the following: I
believe that what I desire can manifest. I invite the Light and
Transformation of God to assist me in asserting my faith every day,
even when events cause me to doubt. (You may, of course use any term
here that references your Greater Power if you do not want to use the
term "God");
2) Intend to be hopeful by saying silently or aloud
the following: I am faithful. I believe that what I desire can
manifest. I see in my mind a peaceful and fulfilling life.
3)
Exercise Gratitude: I am thankful to God (or whatever term you choose)
for everything in my life. I thank God for what has occurred, what
will occur, and the possibilities of the future.
Practice this morning and evening, or more throughout the day. May you be happier and more content as a result!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ YOUR THOUGHT GARDEN
Your thought garden is
the garden created by your thoughts. Weeds and beautiful flowers
co-exist in this place. Many of us have a misconception that whatever
is in our mind, is just there. Modern psychology may promote this by
encouraging us to just "say what's on our mind", and look to our
"feelings". I am a big fan of therapy and many aspects of Psychology.
But, I diverge from some of the pretexts of Psychology when I note that
much of what is in our head is trash. I mean trash from thought
processes and past perceptions and experiences. This trash may not
reflect anything about our current thoughts. More important, this
trash may impede our current potential thoughts. This trash may also
make it harder to manifest our desired life, and act and think who we
really are.
The nature of our thoughts is important because our
thoughts are the colors that our life is painted with. When we hold a
thought and we do not consciously garden it in the moment, it flies out
of our head and into the realm of possibilities, where the next moments
of our life are created. We can then have a life that is muddled with
the weeds of our thought garden. Wouldn't it be nice if our mind could
reflect our current consciously chosen thoughts, and our life could be
painted with them? I think so. So, here is a tool to garden your
thoughts:
1) Intend to call back all of the energy from the
thoughts that have left your mind and have made way to the Realm of
Possibility. Intend that these thoughts come back and stop right
outside your energy field (commonly, the outside edge of this field is
a couple of feet out from your body);
2) Intend that these
thoughts that have traveled back in the form of energy be neutralized
and recycled into the Universal Energy;
3) Intend new thoughts in their place: Examples
are: I intend a life of faith, hope, and gratitude that creates a life
of happiness; I intend to detach from all outcome. Choose new
thoughts that paint a picture of the life you want to have. These
intentions should reflect states of being that can allow your best life
to manifest. These intentions should not be about specific things
wanted, like a particular new car or job. But, rather about the states
of being that will bring these things into unlimited possibility.
4) Intend that these new chosen thoughts leave your mind and go to the place of Unlimited Possibility;
5) Intend a grateful thought, and intend that it also go to the place of Unlimited Possibility.
You are now officially thought-gardened. Do this exercise daily for clear minds and optimal lives!
FEAR CAME TO DINNER & DIDN'T LEAVE~LIVE WITHOUT FEAR & START LIVING
Fear is at worst, the champion of all that is destructive in our
world. At its best, it is pesky and persistent. We commonly think of
fear as a human emotion, like love. But, in fact, fear is an external
energy that looks to experience itself. Fear cannot experience itself
without a consciousness to exercise its will to be afraid.
Fear is like God in this respect, in that God needs a consciousness outside Itself to experience that which It only knows.
Fear looks for self-doubt energy in the mind, and swoops in. It houses
our Energy Body, taking up residence in our body and our thoughts. Our
heart can hold it too. Fear can stay for a lifetime, an unwelcome
guest that we do not know we have.
It doesn't take a mystic
to explain how fear gets in the way. It overshadows important things
like faith and hope. It chokes our ability to step out and move
feeling empowered. If you've ever been afraid, you know what I'm
saying. It's time for fear to hit the road.
Steps to move fear out and keep it out:
1) Intend through a thought or by saying it out loud: I direct fear to leave my spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical space in the name of God.
(I use God's energy here as the Big Protector energy that it is. Fear
and God in a contest? God wins. If you have another name for the
Universal Energy, you can of course use it instead).
2) Intend through a thought or by saying it out loud: I embrace and embody Faith - the state of being that embodies that what I desire can occur. I desire a life that is based on Faith. This is an important thing to intend because Faith is on the other side of the spectrum from fear and opposes its energy.
3) Intend through a thought or by saying it out loud: I embrace and embody Hope - the state of being that believes that I am in the flow of Light. I am connected to God.
4) Intend through a thought or by saying it out loud: I am grateful for my life. I send gratitude up to God. Gratitude
may be the most important intended state of mind: researchers at the
HeartMath Institute found that the heart and brain electrically sinc up
most when the person intends gratitude.)
Do this daily, or several times a day. It is like a shower for the Energy Body.
Happy Living, Happy Life!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WHO'S IN THERE, ANYWAY?
MOVE ENERGY OUT OF YOU THAT DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU, AND START LIVING A MORE HAPPY LIFE
Energy in you that doesn't belong to you? Yes.Quite likely in the last 24 hours, if not right now.Basically, energy that doesn't have a home is always looking for real estate it can move into on the sly. These energies do not have bodies - either they never did, or lost theirs. Anytime you have energy in your space that does not belong to you, you have static on the airwaves of your Energy Body. Static doesn't sound good, and it does not make for a well-functioning autonomous energy system. Nothing like another energy besides you deciding that it wants to do or say something. Bars are full of these energies. Grocery stores, malls. Wherever there are possible hosts, these energies are around.
I once met a woman who liked her energy intruder. She thought that it gave her an edge over others. Extra energy and better thought processes. Her eyes were the color of burnt embers, and they became more so when she said something like this. Never mind her eye color was green. Her energy could not house the other energy and her, so some of her was kicked out. The other energy had made it into the driver's seat, so she could not be convinced to send the energy away. Aside from everything else, she can expect some severe health challenges in her life, because her body has to house the static caused by the two energies in her body - hers and the other energy.
Also, we can receive or give our energy willingly with good intentions. But, like a book in another language, any other person other than the owner of that book cannot use it. This makes for incomplete libraries. God forbid you should need that book. Your energy gone is a big deal. Energy in your space that does not belong to you is a big deal, so either way, it's important to sort the energy.
To send energy away that does not belong to you:
Intend or say aloud the following: I direct all energy that does not belong to me spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically to leave my Energy Space in the name of God;
To call back energy that does belong to you:
Intend or say aloud the following: I direct all energy that does belong to me
spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically to return to my Energy
Space in the name of God.
Do this once in the morning and at night for maintenance, and at times during the day if you need to. Symptoms that you need to include not feeling like yourself, strange thoughts, unexplained anger, physical discomfort, and destructive behavior.
